I love going back and reading my hilarious thoughts from my youth!

jocelynsams@yahoo.comJocelynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00925091486281237318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7115576215111895850.post-80034164212558797272011-11-28T08:31:10.164-08:002011-11-28T08:31:10.164-08:00I think the best book I ever received, one Christm...I think the best book I ever received, one Christmas when I was 13 or so, was Helen McClelland's "Elinor M. Brent-Dyer's Chalet School". I was already a Chalet School fan, but this book was probably what turned me into a serious collector, by telling me that there were more books than just the CS, that the paperbacks were abridged so I wasn't getting the full story, and most importantly, that there were other people who loved these books. Which is probably what stopped me from being too embarrassed to buy the paperbacks as they came out through my teens. And which eventually led me to the Girlsown list (and hence ultimately to this blog!), the various journals, a lot of other good authors, and some very good friends.Rosie Hnoreply@blogger.com
